It was the first permanent stone-bridge connecting Pest and Buda, however, the second permanent crossing on the whole length of the river Danube. St. Stephen's Basilica

The Great Synagogue

The Great Synagogue (Hungarian: Dohány utcai zsinagóga/Nagy zsinagóga) is a historical building in the 7th district of Budapest. It is the largest synagogue in Europe and one of the largest in the world. It is a Neolog Judaism centre with seating capacity of 3,000 people.
The synagogue was built between 1854 and 1859 in Moorish Revival style, with the decoration based chiefly on Islamic models from North Africa and medieval Spain (the Alhambra).
